How cold does it get around that area during the wintertime?

  • Usually January and February overnight is in the high 30's to 40's F. We have seen it 28 F overnight but only a few times. It always warms up to at least mid 50's F during the coldest day. See our weather infomation page for more information.

What is the ballpark figure for a single plane hangar and modest home on the lot?

  • It really depends on what you build. I've seen hangers go up for about 20K and homes (if you do a new manufactured) can be had for about 40K. The high end is limitless with the latest homes and hangers being exceptional.

What area activities (golf, tennis, hunting, fishing...) are nearby?

  • Since we are on the border of Putnam and Alachua Counties we have some of the best Bass fishing in the country. Hunting for deer, wild boar, and turkey is also very popular in the area. Guide services for both hunting and fishing are available in the area. There are eleven golf courses within a 25 mile radius of the community. Nearby Gainesville has several tennis clubs available.

  • You only pay this amount if you are located in the airpark section. Currently it is a $239.00 a year.

  • Since all lots have been sold from the original developer, we have no way to know who is currently selling except by word of mouth. We do intend to add a section on this site for property owners to list their real estate for sale.

  • Lots range from about 2 to 5 acres.

Where may I obtain a Lot map?

  • Right now the only place to get a lot map is the Putnam county planning and zoning department. Putnam County also has an online site to view the lots. The toll free number there is 800-432-0364. We do plan to add one on this site.

How much if any, of a down payment is required to purchase a lot, or is the whole purchase price needed?

  • Well, usually the whole purchase price is required. Unless you can work out a deal with the seller. We have seen quite a few owners hold paper.

  • All lots are owed by private owners at this time and they range from 20K off airport up to about 125K on airport.

What is the minimum square footage of building a home on one of the lots?

  • The provisions allow for a NEW mobile home minimum of 672sq ft. Although lately all of the new lot owners are putting up nice homes and the prices are rising. The last house built was over 600K.

Do you sell avgas at the airpark?

  • No. There is discounted fuel available 24 hours a day less than 12 miles North at a county airpark called Keystone Heights (42J ) which is paved and lighted.

If I live off airport is there provisions for aircraft tie-downs?

  • Tie downs are available ONLY to Association members at about $200 per year in addition to airport fees and at present we have no plans for any shade hangars. Provisions allow for the member to put a hanger up with association approval.
